Delete your Bitely account
You can delete your account yourself, from inside the app, without asking anyone. This page explains exactly how, what gets deleted, how long it takes, and how to get the account back if you change your mind.
1. How to delete your account
Deletion happens in the Bitely app on your phone. It takes about 15 seconds.
Open Settings
In the Bitely app, go to your Profile tab and open Settings.
Scroll to the Account section
Near the bottom of Settings you will find a section headed ACCOUNT.
Tap “Delete account”
It is the last item in that section, shown in red.
Confirm
A confirmation appears — “Delete your account?” — explaining that the account is deactivated now and permanently deleted after 30 days. Confirm it, and you are signed out on every device straight away.
Prefer that we do it for you?
If you cannot get into the app, see section 8 — you can email us from your account's email address and we will process the deletion.
2. What happens right away
- Your account is deactivated immediately.
- You are signed out on every device, and all active sessions stop working.
- Your profile, posts, comments and reviews stop being visible to everyone else — to other users your account looks deleted from that moment.
- You stop receiving Bitely notifications and emails.
- If you own a business listing, it stops being shown to customers.
3. Changing your mind — you have 30 days
Simply sign back in
For 30 days after you request deletion, signing back in with your usual email and password (or Google / Apple) restores your account exactly as it was — posts, followers, saved places, business listing and all. You do not need to contact us.
After 30 days the account is permanently deleted and cannot be restored, by you or by us. Deletion runs automatically shortly after the 30-day mark.
4. What gets deleted
When the 30 days are up, everything tied to your account is permanently removed from our systems:
| Data | What that covers |
|---|---|
| Profile | Name, username, email, phone, bio, website, profile photo and chosen interests |
| Sign-in | Password hash, any Google or Apple link, all sessions and devices |
| Posts | Your reels and photos, captions, hashtags and tagged places |
| Interactions | Comments and replies, likes, saved posts and collections, viewing history |
| Social | Everyone you follow, your followers, and your block list |
| Reviews | Every restaurant review and rating you wrote |
| Orders | Your order history, including items and delivery details |
| Reservations | Past and upcoming table bookings |
| Addresses | Saved delivery addresses, landmarks and instructions |
| Messages | Your conversations with restaurants and riders, including photos and voice notes |
| Notifications | Your notification history and push tokens |
| Business listing | If you own one: the listing, its menu, deals, hours, photos, reviews and orders |
Counts on other people's content — like the number of likes on a post you liked — are recalculated so nothing is left pointing at a deleted account.
5. What is not removed
- Copies other people made — if someone screenshotted, downloaded or shared your reel before deletion, we cannot recall those copies.
- Backups — routine encrypted backups may still contain your data for a short time before they age out on their normal cycle. They are not used to restore deleted accounts.
- Records we must keep by law — if we are legally required to retain something (for example, records relating to a fraud investigation or a legal claim), we keep only that, only for as long as required.
- Anonymous, aggregate figures — totals that contain no personal information and cannot be traced back to you.
6. If you own a business on Bitely
Deleting your personal account also deletes the business you own — its listing, menu, deals, opening hours, photos, reviews and order history all go with it. Customers stop seeing the listing immediately.
Wanting to hand the business over instead?
If someone else should take over the listing rather than losing it, email support@bitely.store before deleting your account. Once the 30 days pass, the listing cannot be recovered.
If you have orders in progress, complete or cancel them first so customers are not left waiting.
7. If you deliver as a rider
Deleting your account removes you as a rider for every restaurant that invited you, and cancels any pending invitations. Complete or hand back deliveries assigned to you before deleting, so nobody's order is stranded.
8. Already uninstalled the app?
You do not need to reinstall it. Email support@bitely.store from the email address on your Bitely account with the subject “Delete my account”.
- We verify the request came from the account's own email address.
- We start the same 30-day deletion process and confirm by reply.
- We aim to action requests within 7 days of receiving them.
- If you cannot access that email address either, write to us anyway and we will find another way to verify it is you.
9. Common questions
Can I take a break instead of deleting?
Yes. Simply logging out keeps everything intact. You can also block accounts or restaurants you would rather not see, and turn notifications off in your phone's settings.
Can I delete just some of my content?
Yes — you can delete individual posts, comments and reviews at any time from the app without deleting your account.
Does deleting the app delete my account?
No. Uninstalling removes the app from your phone but leaves your account intact. Use the steps in section 1, or email us as described in section 8.
Can I use the same email to sign up again later?
Yes. Once the deletion completes, that email is free to register a fresh account — but it will be a new, empty account, not your old one.
Will you email me before it becomes permanent?
The confirmation in the app tells you the date it becomes permanent. If you want a reminder before then, ask us at support@bitely.store.
How do I get a copy of my data first?
Email support@bitely.store before deleting, and we will send you what we hold about your account.
Something we could have fixed?
If you are leaving because something went wrong, we would genuinely like to know — it is the fastest way for us to fix it for everyone else.
